Part of the problem with our budget is the GROCERY budget. (please tell me this is so for you too?) Trying to feed healthy meals to my family with many different dietary needs is a challenging task. Especially when you could easily go broke doing so. I am learning though. It is all about planning! For this non-planner, that is a struggle. I would rather "feel" what I want to eat and go from there, rather than plan out a menu a week in advance. (Blech.) I should live somewhere that I can stop at the market everyday and buy fresh food for dinner and that's that..(in a perfect world.)
So, my point is this:
I have found a few noteworthy blogs that help me figure this out. Finding quality food products at a discount AND buying things you feel good about feeding your family (even with coupons occasionally.) There are a slew of blogs out there on this topic btw. Too many.
On a side note; the whole coupon thing really perplexes me. Doubles, triples, daily doubles, foibles, wha...? I just don't get it. Not to mention most of the coupons out I see are for crap food; food I wouldn't buy anyway. But with a little hard work, patience and dare I say, planning, I can actually find coupons for food I will buy. Imagine that. If you know of any other ways to help me on this quest, please share. I am all ears.
Here are a few blog links that I have found to be of interest.
This is just something I keep thinking about to help me keep the b. word alive and well in our home. (And my marriage happy too.)
(I also might just have to rename my blog... "Random Things I Think About But Really Won't be All That Helpful to You, Dear Reader.")
Oh, those were fun blogs were fun to look at! You should check out befreeforme.com too. I totally get the dilemma and struggle with b. word and feeding a family that has allergies/health issues...just think of this- celiac + pregnant lady with twins = how the heck do you stay in b. for that??? ha. It really does help to plan out the week. AND you don't always have to eat that certain meal you wrote down for that specific date. You have 7 meals to chose from! : ) Love you much, Sweet Sis! You can do it! Keep posting good blogs on this! I need it, too!
